Description:
The format for the Gifted Network meeting consists of updates, possible special guest presentations, and announcements from the PA Department of Education. We then have open-space discussions about topics that are of interest to the group. If we have a large enough attendance, we can break into subject area spaces.
Topics covered in this training will include: Enrichment vs. Acceleration and Differentiation, and Equity.
Teachers of gifted students will write compliant GIEPs with a focus on goal writing; support their students through STEM initiatives; differentiate between enrichment and acceleration; apply differentiation strategies to support general education curriculum; and identify under-identified groups of students to support equitable education.
