DESCRIPTION:
Letrs 3rd edition is a 2-year Professional Learning Course starting with Volume 1 - Word Recognition. Professional learning from LETRS is relevant and applicable regardless of the literacy programs already used within your state, district, or school. LETRS leverages decades of research, including the latest neuroscience that reveals how we learn to read and how to teach reading with effective instruction. The content is translated into everyday classroom success in the most relevant and empowering way for educators. It is presented in flexible, online, and face-to-face delivery models.

Event Information
- Place: Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit
90 Lawton Lane
Milton, PA 17847
- Dates: This course begins May 1st with access to the online course. Participants will complete the Pre-test and the 8 online sessions of each unit before attending the Face to Face trainings held at the CSIU Conference and Learning Center 8:30-3:30.
June 12, 2023 - Unit 1
August 7, 2023 - Unit 2
November 14, 2023 -Unit 3
January 8, 2024 - Unit 4
- Time 8:30 am - 3:30 pm. Participation is required. Lunch will be on your own each day.
- Cost: $450 and includes a book (for participants from CSIU regional districts-non-CSIU districts will have the option to purchase the text/online access for an additional 400.00), one-year access to online learning units, and four face-to-face workshops. Books will be shipped or delivered to your school.
- Act 48 Hours: up to 86 hours.
- Deadline to register: April 17, 2023, Late registrations will incur a $10 fee for individual shipping and handling of the book. There will be no refunds or cancellations after April 17, 2023.
Graduate Credit
Interested participants should know that this course will also be offered for 6 CPE credits. CPE credits offered by IUs in Pennsylvania can be used towards Instructional II certification, Bachelors/Masters Equivalency, and Act 48 requirements. The CPE course, worth 180 Act 48 hours, will involve a larger workload.
