Title: Risk to Resilience: Exploring Protective Factors Through Personal Reflection and Creative Expression
Description: In this interactive and reflective session, participants will explore the definitions and dynamics of risk and protective factors in theory and in the context of their own work with children and youth. Small group discussions will allow participants to identify the most common risk and protective factors among the youth they serve. Participants will identify their own personal risk and protective factors through a guided, strengths-based art activity, "The Resilience Tree," and reflect on how these have influenced their growth, resilience, and connection to their work. This creative process will deepen their empathy, promote self-awareness, and reinforce the power of relational support. This session is designed for educators, family engagement specialists, and leaders working with children and youth, PreK-12, although the core strategy applies across all developmental levels.
