This training will guide participants through the process of selecting both traditional and nontraditional text to teach analysis to all grade levels. Participants will refine their skills of writing a quality prompt, deconstruct PSSA prompts and analyze scored responses to match prompt expectations. Lastly, participants will walk through a model series of engaging TDA lessons that they can implement into their classrooms. Participants will be able to: * Select quality texts- both traditional and non traditional texts to teach analysis * Write a prompt that prepares a platform for students to analyze a text with supporting evidence and inference * Deconstruct PSSA prompts and analyze scored TDA responses to match prompt expectations * Explain the process of a series of lessons that teaches all the TDA required skills. EVENT DETAILS: --- Dates: September 23, 2020 --- Location: CSIU Conference & Learning Center - Susquehanna B --- Cost: $75 per person --- Lunch: will be on your own --- Target Audience: 3-8 Grade Content Teachers, Instructional Coaches, Special Eduction Teachers, Reading Specialists, Administrators --- Registration Deadline: September 16, 2020 by 12:00 pm --- Act 48 hours: 5.0 (must attend entire event to earn Act 48 hours. No partial hours will be given. The CSIU will upload Act 48 hours for this event to the PDE PERMS system). Anyone requesting Act 48 hours must provide the correct PPID# and provide proof of attendance (sign-in and sign-out roster provided at the event). PAYMENT METHODS: --- Credit Card: If you choose this payment option, please be advised that if you are a district and having several staff attending, our system does not allow for group registrations at this time. For credit card refunds, please allow three-four weeks for processing. --- P.O. (Purchase Order) If you choose this payment option, we will not bill your district or organization until after the event. If you do not have a P.O. number when registering, please feel free to place your district or organization name in the space provided.
