In this training participants will examine what essay components belong in the TDA, how graphic organizers vary based on text, reader, and task; evaluate a TDA essay score of 3 to determine next steps, and discover how to make grading manageable. Participants will: - Determine what essay writing components apply to TDA writing - Learn how graphic organizers vary by text, reader and task - Develop a quality thesis statement - Recognize that essays may be of various structures and lengths - Evaluate a student essay that received a 3 to determine next steps - Use FCAs and student highlighting for student self evaluation and make grading manageable EVENT DETAILS: --- Dates: January 13, 2021 --- Location: CSIU Annex Building --- Cost: $75 per person --- Lunch: will be on your own --- Target Audience: Gr. 3-8 All Content Teachers, Special Education Teachers, Reading Specialists, Instructional Coaches, Administrators --- Registration Deadline: January 6, 2021 by 12:00 pm --- Act 48 hours: 5.0 (must attend entire event to earn Act 48 hours. No partial hours will be given. The CSIU will upload Act 48 hours for this event to the PDE PERMS system). Anyone requesting Act 48 hours must provide the correct PPID# and provide proof of attendance (sign-in and sign-out roster provided at the event). PAYMENT METHODS: --- Credit Card: If you choose this payment option, please be advised that if you are a district and having several staff attending, our system does not allow for group registrations at this time. For credit card refunds, please allow three-four weeks for processing. --- P.O. (Purchase Order) If you choose this payment option, we will not bill your district or organization until after the event.
