Prerequisite:

  • Must be an eToole Virtual Learning District Member. Pre-registration with Quality Matters (QM) is required and QM will award hours for the DYBC workshop with CSIU awarding hours for the facilitated PLC sessions. The workshop is asynchronous and the PLC's are synchronous.  Participants are required to attend both PLC sessions to receive the Act 48 credit as part of the cohort experience.

Description: 

The K-12 Designing Your Blended Course workshop explores key Specific Review Standards in the QM K-12 Rubric and provides a framework for building a blended course — one that combines face-to-face and online elements. Participants use the QM K-12 Rubric to review key elements of blended course design and develop one unit of a blended course. The PLC work will provide opportunity for application of the concenpts in the workshop through a combination of synchronous sessions and individual work.  Participants must successfully complete the asynchronous workshop and the live synchronous PLC sessions to receive Act 48 credit as part of the cohort experience. Registrations are non-refundable based on QM refund policies. 

Teachers will:

  • Develop blended earning course design skills through learning about standards for quality in blended and online learning.
  • Create a module aligned to quality standards in blended course design.
  • Learn how professional learning communities will transfer this information into practical application to promote student success in blended courses. 

Date/Time: Asynchronous Workshop Dates: October 14-28, 2021. CSIU Facilitated PLC Dates: October 19, 2021 - 1:00 - 3:00 (live face to face session) November 2, 2021 - 1:00-3:00- (live face to face session)

Act 48: Workshop total: 14 + PLC's (21 hours) -- Participants must successfully complete the asynchronous workshop and the live synchronous PLC sessions to receive Act 48 credit as part of the cohort experience

Target Audience: Teachers & Teacher Leaders New to Teaching Online
