DESCRIPTION:
STEP UP is a national community of physics teachers, researchers, and professional societies. We design high school science lessons to empower teachers, create cultural change, and inspire young women to pursue physics in college.
PARTICIPANTS WILL:
- Create an equitable classroom environment to encourage women to pursue STEM careers
- Teach students about physics career opportunites
- Help students understand steriotypes and bias and how culture might impact in the confidence in the science classroom
DETAILS:
- Location: Zoom Training (IMPORTANT: You MUST be registered in the CSIU Registration system to receive the Zoom information provided by email prior to event. PLEASE use the same email you registered with when attending the Zoom event.)
- Cost: Complimentary
- Target Audience: High school science teachers
- Act 48 hours: Partcipants will complete 1.5 hours of in person instruction and 1.0 hours of self paced instruction to be completed by May 27, 2021.
- Evaluation: How did we do? The presenter will provide a evaluation link at the end of the session. In order to complete the evaluation, you MUST be logged into your CSIU Registration System account. Please complete the evaluation within 48 hours.

The CSIU Registration System is fully integrated with Zoom. It is important your account information is current and the email address used is the same in both systems (any discrepency will not track information correctly between the systems and you will forfeit your Act48 hours being uploaded).
