DESCRIPTION:
The TDA Institute participants will sharpen their skills in identifying analysis as well as the other critical TDA components by examining student TDA responses. They will become skillful at writing TDA prompts for their own texts, creating scaffolded materials, identifying student needs on the TDA Learning Progressions, and adapting ready to use TDA lesson plans. Participants will have access to all the Center for Assessment TDA resources and teacher created classroom materials.

- Engage in a student work analysis protocol to analyze TDA responses
- Calibrate TDA essay expectations
- Use the TDA Learning Progressions to identify individual and group needs
- Gain a working understanding of analysis and strategies to teach it
- Identify characteristics of a quality TDA lesson series and adapt for use in the classroom
- Collaborate to strengthen the quality of teacher created prompts written to your class texts
- Deconstruct PSSA prompts to know what is being asked and determine what learning is needed in previous grade levels to support success on the TDA
