Description:
This session will provide an overview of the concept of trauma, how trauma affects an individual child's development, as well as behaviors educators might see as a result of a child's traumatic experience. This session will also provide an overview of basic strategies educators can implement to support students in their classrooms that may be experienced some type of trauma.
Participants will:
Define stress and identify possible life stressors; Discuss professional quality of life; explore the impact of self-care on teacher effectiveness; Self-assess the need for self-care in a variety of areas and develop a plan for self-care.
